THE PROJECT
For an entire quarter of my 5th year in school, I was tasked to create the identity of a hotel with a restaurant inside it from the ground up. Our hotel had a physical location that we visited in Memphis TN. The building is an old abandoned snuff factory that we designed concepts for the new renovations. I was partnered with an interior designer, Allison Maiden, to complete the project.
Welcome aboard to Hotel Platform, which is home to Shuffle and Knight Coffee.
CONCEPT
What if a hotel was a train station? What would that feel like? That was the question we asked ourselves when creating the experience for this hotel. To us, the feeling of a train station is a joining of people who have their own destinations and pace, so it may feel fast contrasted with slow, or exciting contrasted with anticipation for what is next, but there is time to relax and take in the little things.
BUILDING
I had the amazing Allison Maiden as an interior designer to help with the structure and design of the building. It was fun and educational to collaborate with different creatives with different skills. Together we made some damn good work.
